2007 Mazda B4000 Review

The Mazda B series trucks are closely related to the Ford Ranger. There are three basic models, with the difference being mainly the size of the engine. The number in the name relates to the engine capacity. The B400 is powered by a 4.0 liter V6 that is capable of 207 horsepower. It is available in either 5 speed manual or 5 speed automatic. Whereas most reviewers have been favorably impressed with the performance and economy of the smaller engines in this series, they are not as impressed with the V6. There is a 19.5 gallon tank, and the MPG estimates are 16 in the city, and 19-20 highway.

The B4000 comes in two four door body styles with seating for five. Like its sister truck, the Ranger, it is capable of serving as a work truck with 71.8” of cargo length in the bed, and a payload rating of 1,260 pounds. Although none of the Mazda B series trucks could be called luxury trucks, they all have well laid out interiors with ample room. There are not a lot of bells and whistle extras on these trucks, but everything basic is provided. Road tests reports always speak of the excellent handling, and smooth ride

The Mazda trucks are constantly outsold in the United States by their Ford and Chevrolet counterparts, but they have a history of retaining value well especially when kept in good condition. Two new colors have been added in 2007, Pueblo Gold, and Vista Blue. One change in instrumentation was also introduced on the 2007 models. This is a standard tire pressure monitoring system. In recent years, the trend in pickup trucks has been toward adding more and more extras to the interior, and the prices have climbed to reflect this trend. For those who are looking for a truck that is more a truck than a luxury vehicle, the Mazda B series, and the B4000 in particular, could be just the thing. It has the solid construction, and reasonable price that used to be the standard in Pick up trucks of the past.
