When you get behind the wheel of a new designed Sport Trac, you are going to get the feeling that you are sitting in a Ford Explorer SUV until you turn around to check the back seat. The Sport Trac is essentially the Explorer with the rear cut off and a pick up truck bed added. Ford calls this configuration a Sport Utility Truck. The Sport Trac offers both a V6 and V8 engine for 2007. The V8 is a 281 cubic inch SOHC monster with 3 valves per cylinder and an output of 292 horse power. The V8 can handle a maximum payload of 1400 pounds. Of course, there is both 4 wheel and 2 wheel drive packages. The Explorer has suffered from poor resale value in the two wheel drive version, and the Sport Trac is sure to follow suit there. A four wheel drive really makes more sense in a “Sport Utility” vehicle anyway. (more…)

The advertising theme that the Ford Motor Company uses for its line of pickup trucks is “Built Ford Tough”. The rugged Ford Ranger certainly lives up that billing. It has the look and the feel of a very solid vehicle, but it mixes that with an interior that makes you feel like you are riding in a luxury car. Even when you are riding off road, and your truck is covered with mud, inside you feel detached in a world of comfort. (more…)

The F-350 Ford Pickup truck can best be described as the F-250 Super Duty except a little bit more so. The two models share most engines, and many of the same option packages. And like its slightly smaller brother, the F-350 is designed for work. The powerful engines and rugged frame construction are all designed for carrying heavy payload, and pulling very heavy weights. Using this truck simply for cruising around town, or commuting to the office is a bit like using Paris Hilton to simply wash the dishes. (more…)
